As a community that admires a high value of life for is citizens, healthcare is an extremely large part of what makes Vegreville a great place for your family. Vegreville currently has several competent family physicians who are always accepting new patients. These physicians work out of three different locations, St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Vegreville Family Clinic, and the Kalyna Country Primary Care Network. The family clinic has weekly walk-in hours for any minor ailment or illness making it easy to get yourself or a loved one treatment quickly. St. Joseph’s General Hospital, a Covenant Health facility, is equipped with an Emergency Room, onsite Lab and X-Ray, and a 24-bed acute care floor. 

Out of Vegreville’s Emergency Services building, EMS is provided by Alberta Health Services with two Basic Life Support units and one Advanced Life Support unit. Vegreville’s location an hour east of Edmonton makes for short trips to see specialists or surgeons.

With 22.1% of Vegreville’s population being over the age of 65, there are several senior facilities that provide varying levels of care. 

For those independent pensioners, Vegreville also has several Senior Housing options. If needed, home care services are offered by the Vegreville Community Health Centre provided by Alberta Health Services.
