Vegreville Bunnock Association Receives Town Event Hosting Grant

The Town of Vegreville is pleased to congratulate the Vegreville Bunnock Association, recipient of a $1,500 Local Sports & Event Hosting Grant.

The Association’s annual tournament will take place from July 17 to 19, 2026, at the Vegreville Agricultural Society Grounds and is expected to welcome 35 teams from across Alberta and beyond.

The event will bring competitors, families and visitors to Vegreville and, as result, support local businesses, generate visitor spending and contribute to Vegreville’s reputation as a welcoming destination for sport, recreation and community events.

This marks the fourth Economic Development Incentive awarded by the Town of Vegreville so far in 2026.

Earlier this year, the Town awarded a Local Sports & Event Hosting Grant to the Vegreville Minor Soccer Association in support of its hosting of the Lakeland Cup. The Town also approved two Local Business Signage Incentive Grants, valued at $2,000 each, for Respiratory Wellness Corporation and Vegreville Diner to support signage improvements at their respective businesses.

Through its suite of Economic Development Incentives, the Town of Vegreville continues to support local investment, business improvements and events that attract visitors and generate economic activity within the community.
